This was a fun little piece that I made for the Reno Bike Project’s “We HeArt Bikes” fundraising bicycle art show in May 2015.  I called it “Schwinn and Tonic”.

Our family celebrated more Halloween parties this year than ever before. First was Kirk and Zella’s party at their daycare. Kirk went as Buzz Lightyear and Zella went as Scooby Doo. Kirk and Zella decorated pumpkins for the pumpkin decorating contest (see photos below).

A couple days later Lorri and I attended a 70s-themed Halloween party in the neighborhood.

Then on Halloween, we attended a Halloween party hosted by Lorri’s boss.

And finally it was time to go trick-or-treating that evening.

Our attempt to summit Mt. Whitney this past weekend was unsuccessful. Two days prior to our climb, the Southern Sierras were hit with an unseasonable snowstorm. In fact, the night before we were to set off, the upper elevations received 8 – 10 inches of snow. Unfortunately our party (Blake, Doug, Mark and myself) was not equipped for a winter ascent.

We decided to hike as far as we could make it in our trail runners (no one wore boots). We made it to High Camp (~12,000’) where we decided to turn back. Check out these video clips:
